How we designed, built, and maintain a full-scale Computer-Aided Dispatch system with 30+ microservices — handling real-time incidents, live responder tracking, and EIDO-compliant operations.
What made this engagement high-stakes, and why a standard delivery model was not enough.
Problem context
Our client needed a modern, scalable CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) system to replace legacy infrastructure. The requirements were demanding: real-time incident management, live GPS tracking of responders on a map, instant dispatch coordination, cross-agency communication, EIDO compliance and reporting/analytics — all running 24/7 with zero tolerance for downtime.
This wasn't a 6-month project. It was a multi-year commitment to build and evolve a mission-critical platform that public safety professionals depend on every day.
Co-founder approach
This is where our operating model shows up — ownership beyond tickets, and judgment when it matters most.
We operated as product owners, not just developers — making architecture decisions, identifying edge cases, and proactively solving problems
We built with the future in mind - designing systems that could scale, adapt, and support evolving needs without constant rework.
We trained our entire team to think like public safety professionals, understanding dispatch workflows, urgency levels, and operational realities
When scope evolved (as it always does in mission-critical systems), we flagged risks early and proposed solutions before they became expensive
